Nic Foster

Full name: Nic Foster (but I wasn't born with that...it's all the rage in the broadcasting industry to have a name change you know!).

Birthday: 20th June.

Star sign: Gemini.

Nickname at school: Stretch or Robbo (a long story).

Where did you go to school and were you naughty? I moved around a lot when I was growing up but most of my schooling was in Burnham near Slough but I did go to Brackenhale in Bracknell for a year and before that Harmanswater Junior and I was a perfect model student (my teachers will tell you different though I'm sure).

First job - and would you do it again? I have never had a ‘proper' job as such as I've always been a DJ either on the radio or in clubs but I have tinkered with tyre fitting and I trained as a butcher for a while (about 4 weeks).

While the music's playing, what do you do? Paint my toenails or put some extra lippy on..!

Do you have any embarrassing albums in your collection at home? I have all kinds of music at home and I've been an avid collector for years so no album is embarrassing really but I do have a Greatest Hits of Bucks Fizz that gets a little over played...Camera Never Lies...you can't beat it.

Favourite place to eat? This one is easy...it's a village pub in a place in Lancashire called Waddington, the pub is The Lower Buck and it does a fish pie to die for.

Favourite pub? This is another easy one and it gets me over to see friends a lot more too...The Folly in Farringdon is a great down to earth, spit and sawdust kind of place with a great atmosphere.

Favourite Film? Another tough question but it would be a toss-up between any of the James Bond movies, the original Star Wars or Shawshank Redemption but to choose a favourite musical is easy as Paint Your Wagon and Seven Brides For Seven Brothers win every time.

What's your favourite holiday destination? The Southern tip of Spain around Gibraltar...I have such a scream every time I go, I love it.

What's your favourite tipple? Not that you can get it in many places anymore but my favourite tipple has to be a ‘light and best'...if your not sure ask your granddad..!

Prefer a take away or eating out? Neither really I like good home cooked food.

Do you like sport or are you a couch potato? I love sport especially when I'm standing in a bar watching the legendary and mighty Chelsea.

Best live act you've ever seen? I had the privilege to be at the first Live Aid so I guess that was the best I've ever seen.

Any party tricks? I can sleep standing up while having a conversation.

What's the thing you're least likely to say? I don't know as I have never said it...Oh I've just thought of something...I would never say...yes I'll pay full price for that..!

Any hobbies? My motorbike and my 1975 MG Midget.

Who'd you most like to interview? I always wanted to interview Kenny Everett as I would have loved to find out how he was such a radio genius.

How are you most likely to spend your day off? Day off, what's that?

What's the strongest trivia fact you know? I know what the ‘00' in 007 James Bond stands for and no it's not Licensed To Kill.

What would you most like to be remembered for? I don't know I'm not dead yet!

When did you last chuck a sicky? I've been self-employed all my working life so chucking a sicky isn't a good thing to do...I can't really phone myself and say I'm not coming in to work because I'm sick!

What do you keep in your car glove compartment? 14 felt tip pens...all black.

Name a good deed you've done that you're proud of? In my early broadcasting career I was doing a quiz on the radio and someone called in and said they were going to top themselves; I spent nearly 5 hours on-air talking this person out of doing themselves any harm.

Something you'd rather not admit? You're not catching me out that way...I'm just not going to admit anything..!
