Ladies and gents, strike up the band... "and now the end is near, and so I face, the final curtain..."
Because whenever I have heard this song I tend to be at a company do, two sheets to the proverbial and being man handled off the stage, ("Neale, LEAVE the nice Karaoke man alone will you?) and despite them being some of the most famous words ever penned for a tune, I don't think that minus a couple of glasses of 'falling down juice' that I could remember the rest. Isn't it funny how when you're drunk you can remember every lyric to every tune? Or is just that you think you can?
I remember Frank sang a bit about 'carefully stepping along byways.' Clearly a ditty way ahead of it's time, and obviously scribed to warn us about Plastic Policemen and Council Enforcement Officers.
Being painfully sober and in charge of all faculties, you'll be pleased to hear I'm not about to sing Sinatra's 'My Way' at breakfast to you.
I am however, making way; some exciting news for next week... w/c 12th May, Fia Tarrant will be stepping into my 'Size 9's' to present an exciting new brekky show at Reading 107.
My time presenting the show has come to a close and Fia will be running with that baton from Monday.
I've thoroughly enjoyed my time on the show and my sincerest thanks go to the good folk that have emailed, texted (that word still doesn't feel comfortable), phoned, even visited!
I'll not be going far though. The good bosses here at Radio Towers have awarded me with a new show, news to come soon. So for all those on the cast list, don't even think about clearing out yer' locker, as you have an important journey to make with me on to another counselling session... sorry, radio show.
So, see you across the coridoor in Studio 2 for our new one and remember what they say in show business...
Neale who?
That's Showbiz!
