Louise Lewis

Full name: Louise Emma Lewis

Job Title: Broadcast Journalist

Birthday: 15th November

Starsign: Scorpio

How long have you been a journalist and how did you get into it? I've been working as a Journalist for just over 2 years now. Whilst studying for my Journalism degree I started doing work expreience at a couple of local stations and then once I was qualified I freelanced to gain as much expreience as I could. My first permanent job was at a station in Bordon before I moved to work here at Reading 107.

What's the best bit about your job? I love being able to break Reading's biggest stories to people living in the town. I also get to interview so many different people. This job has such variety- each day is always different.

What's the worst bit about your job?  Seeing Mel leave at 1- especially in the summer when the weather's nice!

What's the most memorable story you have covered? The Royals being relegated was my most memorable because the story had so many different angles. Reading fans even staged a protest at the Madejski Stadium to show their support for Steve Coppell, and to convince him to stay as the clubs manager. It was a really busy but exciting time to work as a journalist in Reading.

Other than reading the news, what else do you do? While I'm not reading bulletins I'm preparing them. I also have to set up and carry out interviews. They have to be edited and scripts have to be written so that we have enough local news for the following morning.

If you weren't on the radio, what job would you do? I think I'd like to work as cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic as I've heard you get lots of free holidays and I love the red uniforms!

What do you like doing when you are not at work? My favourite activity is shopping! But I also like going out with friends and watching films at the cinema.

Where did you go to school and were you naughty? I went to Hawley Place School just outside Reading but no of course I wasn't naughty- I was their star pupil!!!!

First job - and would you do it again? My first job was working in the lighting department in BHS- but no I wouldn't do it again as I had to run backwards and forwards carrying heavy lamps all the time- and I'm not the strongest at only 5"2!

What does the last text message you received say? It was from my mum saying  'I'm so excited about the holiday, but am starving'- we're both on a diet!!

Last album you bought: The new Sash album- I love all their songs!

Do you have any embarrassing albums in your collection at home? Yes I have lots- I think the worst is Bewitched but I think they'll all come in useful one day!

Favourite place to eat? It would have to be Pizza Express in Wokingham- it has such a lovely chilled out atmosphere.

Favourite pub? Revolution
