Two men have been arrested after police recovered a stash of guns and ammunition in Reading.
Officers attended an address in Tilehurst Road on 16 July, after receiving information that a firearm could be found at the property.
An initial search recovered a gun and some ammunition. A more detailed search of the same property led to the discovery of five more firearms and a quantity of compatible ammunition.
Further inquiries led to the discovery of a seventh firearm and ammunition buried on some land in the Whitley area on 21 July.
Det Sgt Steve Jennings, from Reading CID, said: "This is clearly a significant find and we have successfully removed seven firearms from the streets of Reading. People should feel reassured that we have found these items.
"The weapons are being forensically examined and we are investigating whether they can be linked to gun crimes both in this Force area and elsewhere.
"I would urge anyone with any information about theses weapons, or any other firearms, to contact my team via 0845 8 505 505."
