Hi Again...
The week started off with going the full distance of the London Marathon. Unfortunately, not running it...just keeping up with the 6 hours of tv coverage! I was up early to watch the MOTD repeat of the Royals v Fulham (moving swiftly on...) and kept watching as Sue Barker and co talked us around the course. Were they being sponsored by the Lottery? If they told us once that The Cutty Sark was being renovated thanks to a grant blah blah, they must've told us 40 times! To be honest, it seems very strange to me that you have thousands of people running to raise money for great causes, to change/save lives, and yet we're spending millions on an old ship. Maybe it's just me but I couldn't give a monkey's...it's just a waste of money. The runners of course are always an inspiration, and helped me decide that I'll run Reading half marathon again next year.
Looking forward to our album of the week next week...E=mc2 by Mariah Carey. This week's American Idol saw Mariah as a guest mentor, and despite her diva image she didn't come across too badly. She even let one of the contestants touch her! They all sang MC songs...the best by a mile was David Cook who did "Always Be My Baby". You might have misgivings about a bloke doing such a screechy girlie song (I did!)....but think again! Watch it here, and have a good week.
Robert
